Overview
ExamCo helps Nigerian students prepare for national exams with practice questions by exam, subject and year, CBT simulation, AI explanations and progress tracking. It is designed to keep working without an internet connection.
The problem
Many exam-prep tools offer static past questions with little explanation, and few help students see where they are improving.
Unreliable internet makes online-only study tools frustrating for many students.
Goals
- Make quality practice and explanations accessible on everyday phones
- Keep studying possible without a connection
- Help students understand their strengths and weak areas
Approach and key decisions
- Offline-first architecture
- Students download question packs and keep learning offline; progress syncs with the backend when a connection returns.
- Explanations that teach
- An AI tutoring workflow restructures questions to produce clearer explanations and worked examples.
- Handling varied content
- Questions include long passages, equations, diagrams, tables and images, all of which had to render well on small screens.

Results
We do not have verified performance figures for this project, so we do not publish any. We would rather show the work than estimate its impact.
What we learned
Offline-first is a product decision, not just a technical one: it shapes content packaging, sync and how progress is shown.
